Michele Iskandar, PhD

I have a background in biology, nutrition and dietetics. Before embarking into the world of research, I trained and worked as a dietitian in hospital and private settings. During my graduate studies, I undertook research aimed at answering practical questions about the impact of the foods we eat on chronic diseases. I obtained my Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from McGill University in 2011. As a research associate, I coordinate, guide and facilitate all of the team’s research activities, from inception to publication. When I am not conducting research, acting as guest editor for scientific journals, or teaching, I advocate for healthy eating and debunk nutrition misinformation through seminars and social media.
