
About: Principal Investigator
Dr. Stan Kubow is an Associate Professor at the School of Human Nutrition at McGill University. He also holds Honorary Associate Professor positions at The School of Biological Sciences, The University of Hong Kong and at the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, The University of Queensland.
His research program is highly interdisciplinary involving nutritional science, biomedical sciences, food science, and toxicology. He has 175 publications in the premiere journals in the fields of nutrition, biomedical sciences, food science and toxicology (Google Scholar h-index = 44; Google Scholar citations = 7319; Scopus h-index = 36, Web of Science h-index = 33). He is ranked in the list that represents the top 2 percent of the most-cited scientists in the world according to the composite citation index released by Stanford University.
He has delivered 30 invited talks in international scientific meetings and obtained international patents. His interdisciplinary research has led to his participation on the Editorial Boards of highly ranked journals in human nutrition (Nutrients; IF = 6.7), food science (Foods; IF = 5.5) and microbiology (Microorganisms; IF = 4.9). He has trained 58 graduate students (12 Ph.D., 34 M.Sc. thesis, 12 M.Sc. non-thesis) and 10 postdoctoral fellows who have achieved senior positions in international or national academic institutions, government, and industry.
His research has received funding of approximately $7 million as Principal Investigator and co-Principal Investigator, and $7 million as co-applicant from major peer reviewed granting agencies including Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Canadian Foundation of Innovation John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF), Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS), Fonds Pour la Formation de Chercheurs et L'aide la Recherché (FCAR), among several others.
