I am working in Dr. Kubow’s lab to pursue my research interests in functional foods and environmental toxicants. My Ph.D. project focuses on the impact of the environmental organic pollutants polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) on human gut microbiota and gut health. I am also studying whether dietary prebiotics and probiotics could protect against environmental PCBs-associated adverse effects in the human gut. I completed my bachelor’s degree in food quality and safety in China and my MSc in food safety at McGill. After completing my MSc, I worked as a quality assurance specialist in the food industry. During my Ph.D. studies, I also work as a teaching assistant. If you can’t find me in the lab, I am probably sleeping at home, or swimming, or wandering.
